Solution :

Somehow the ownership of .pinerc in my home directory was changed to root.
I changed it and now it quite :-).
Here is the answer I got :
Pine asks this - usually only once! - at the start of each month, and makes
a note in your .pinerc file that you've already answered the question (so
that it doesn't keep asking), viz.:
# Date last time you were asked about deleting old sent-mail
last-time-prune-questioned=98.1
If it can't modify the .pinerc file (or PINERC. if you're using PC-Pine)
then it will keep asking. Check the ownership and protections on .pinerc and
on the directory it's in.
