SUMMARY: Question regarding nslookup and nameserver list

my original question was:

going to bind-4.9.6 resolved the question, and learning more
about how the parent domain was configured.

what prompted this was trying to get a list of nameservers from
my parent domain. what i did not know at the time was that the
parent domain has NS records defined for only itself.
the next step with the creation of this
