SUMMARY: New to the list: Dumb question

I've been on the list for a week and I was wondering:

When answering questions, are we to reply only to the person asking the
question or is it alright to reply to both the person and the mailing list?

*********************

I sent the above e-mail not knowing what the proper protocol for posting to
the mailing list was. When I subscribed, I never did recieve an FAQ
explaining the procedures. Of course, it figures I recieved the FAQ a few
minutes after I sent the e-mail. The answer to my question is: You send a
reply ONLY to the person asking the question. The person asking the
question is to then send a summary to the mailing list explaining the
solution to the problem.

Since I have recieved over 75 e-mails answering my question, I will not
list everyone. But you know who you are, and I thank you.

My apologies,
Dave
