Hello,

Credit for solution goes to local Sun support:

After we have copied the "/" partition from another machine,
the sparc6000 have started to see rootdg of that machine. So,
the solution was :

1. remove volume manager packages from the system
2. reboot
3. install volume manager packages again
4. run vxinstall - encapsulate system disk only
and leave alone all others.
5. reboot

After that steps , we have right rootdg with right disks and volume
manager sees all our old disk groups defined early. All procedure takes
20min.

Thanks to: "Coffindaffer, Virginia" <Virginia.Coffindaffer@wang.com>
for suggestion to have cold backup too - it is good idea.

bye
